A Note on How to Read These
There is no wrong choice here. The introductory class suits someone who has never stood in a dōjō and wants to find out what it feels like. The workshop suits someone ready to spend more time with a single discipline. The immersion suits someone who wants to spend a meaningful stretch of time inside the practice and come away with a real sense of the whole. If you are uncertain, the introductory class is where most people begin — and it is exactly what it sounds like.
For the curious beginner
Introductory Dōjō Class
A welcoming first class for those new to Japanese martial arts, covering the customs of entering the hall, bowing, and the basics of stance and movement. An instructor guides each step with patience and care. No prior experience is needed. Held over about an hour.
Suited to anyone who is curious and wants to feel the rhythm of the dōjō for themselves, without any pressure to continue further.
For those wanting more depth
Discipline and Form Workshop
A measured workshop focusing on the foundations of form, breath, and focused movement drawn from a chosen discipline. The emphasis rests on steady practice and respect rather than competition. Includes guided drills and a closing reflection on the principles behind the technique.
Held over roughly two hours in small groups. Suited to those who would like a deeper feel for the practice — whether or not they have attended a class here before.
For a focused half-day
Half-Day Martial Arts Immersion
An unhurried half-day exploring the culture and philosophy of the dōjō alongside hands-on practice — from etiquette and history to foundational movement and partnered drills. Includes guidance throughout, a borrowed practice uniform, and a printed note on the tradition.
Limited to small groups for personal attention. Suited to guests ready to spend a focused morning or afternoon genuinely inside the craft, rather than passing through it.
In Every Session
What Each Class Has in Common
A dedicated dōjō space in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, maintained with care and respect.
Personal attention from experienced instructors in every session, without exception.
The reasoning behind the forms, the meaning of the bow, the vocabulary of the practice.
Each session stands on its own. No membership, no grading ladder, no pressure to return.
